As the World Turns and Guiding Light alum Tanya Clarke hits theaters today in the new film DriverX.
Clarke, who appeared as ATWT's Shelby Johnson and GL's Wendy, plays the on-screen wife of Better Call Saul's Patrick Fabian. According to the film's official description, "DriverX is the comedic yet touching story of Leonard, a middle-aged man played (Fabian), who winds up driving for a Rideshare company. It is a comedy/drama about the people he meets and about the challenges he has in his life." Clarke plays Leonard's wife, Dawn, who is the main breadwinner in the family. "She is forced to adjust to her husband's new career as a driver, following the demise of the record store he owned for many years."
One Life to Live alum Melissa Fumero, General Hospital's Max Gail, and Passions' Travis Schuldt also appear in the film.
Writer/Director Henry Barrial and Producer Mark Stolaroff have been working together for over 15 years, making award-winning, mostly self-financed micro-budget feature films. For the better part of 2014, Barrial and Stolaroff were developing a higher-budget horror film that was ready to go into production when, at the last minute, the financing fell through. Running low on funds, Barrial, a married father with two young boys, was forced to take immediate remedial action -- he joined the Sharing Economy and started driving for Uber, the successful ridesharing company that has been taking the world by storm. And so began the pair's next big idea.
DriverX premieres today in New York City, Los Angeles, and other select cities as well as on-demand.
