One Life to Live alum Nathan Fillion (ex-Joey Buchanan) opens up about his daytime past and reveals which former Llanview resident he'd love to see guest star on his new series The Rookie.

One Life to Live lovers were moved beyond tears when primetime star Nathan Fillion (ex-Joey Buchanan) recently dropped by a soap opera fan event, and the good vibes keep on coming. The popular actor and star of ABC's new series The Rookie just gave an interview that includes a lot of love for Llanview and everything that came with it.

Fillion reveals that his former daytime colleague Kassie DePaiva (ex-Blair Cramer, OLTL; Eve Donovan, Days of our Lives) was the one who shared the news about the All My Children/One Life to Live fan event he ended up attending, and he had a blast reuniting with his former costars.

"I hadn't see Erin Torpey -- who played my sister Jessica -- in ages," he says to TV Insider. "I hadn't seen Kirk Geiger -- who played my brother Kevin -- in 20 years. I'm still friends with a lot of those people."

And those long-lasting friendships are part of the reason why fans will never catch Fillion talking smack about soaps.

"I'll never speak poorly about daytime drama," he shares. "The people on that show took me in and took care of me. There is no one there I wouldn't give a giant hug to. If you're going to learn the ropes, learn them from the best."

And the best, which all daytime fans know, includes Erika Slezak (ex-Victoria Lord), whom Fillion credits with convincing his parents to feel good about his move to NYC.

"They were terrified for me... [but she] sat down and talked to them. As they left the studio, my parents were calm and relaxed. They said,' Okay, these are good people and they actually care about you. This is going to be a great job for you,'" he recalls. "I was in in an incredibly safe place where I could learn at an incredibly intense rate. I was bumping elbows with the best."

As for who from OLTL Fillion would love to work with again, he says it's impossible to narrow it down.

"All of them!" he answers, before ending a list of former colleagues with: "I want Bob Woods [ex-Bo Buchanan] to be on The Rookie."
