Former All My Children actor Cameron Mathison (ex-Ryan Lavery), host of the W Network's upcoming home renovation show, Game of Homes, is set to star in and host a brand new digital series titled Cameron's House Rules.
The series, also from the W Network, will showcase the Canadian as he takes on a difficult renovation project: his own California home! But that's not the only twist the series, which premieres on Tuesday, March 17, boasts. In addition to offering fans an exclusive, inside look at Mathison's L.A. home as he transforms his run-down garage into a beautiful family room for weekend movie nights, Cameron's House Rules features the actor's wife, Vanessa, and their two kids, Lucas and Leila, as judges.
"I knew my family would love the idea, so I brought them in on it, and we tackled the home renovation together," says the star, who (little do many people know) has a degree in Structural Engineering from McGill. "I'm very excited to have people see this side of me, unscripted and working at home with my family."
All five episodes of Cameron's House Rules will premiere on Tuesday, March 17, on WNetwork.com, W View, and W Network's official YouTube channel.
Meanwhile, Game of Homes, which Mathison also hosts, premieres the same day on W Network at 10PM ET. The series follows Mathison as he guides teams of skilled amateur home renovators as they compete for the chance to trade their skills for the prize of a lifetime. The teams save rundown houses that are marked to be torn down and revive them into dream homes. Each team must redo the houses room by room, as they cope with small budgets, tight deadlines, and even tighter living spaces.
In each episode, two expert judges -- Cheryl Torrenueva and Jeremy MacPherson along with a celebrity guest judge, including Jillian Harris, Kelly Deck, and Todd Talbot from W Network's Love It or List It Vancouver, Drew and Jonathan Scott from the Property Brothers, and CMT Canada's Kortney and Dave Wilson, Colin and Justin, and Dee Dee Euctace -- vote for their favorite room renovations based on design and workmanship. In the finale, the public will cast their vote in addition to the judges'. The winning couple each week receives a prize that is theirs to keep, and in the dramatic finale, the team whose finished house is voted the best wins their house and a plot of land to put it on.
