AMC and ATWT alum Mike Minor dies

Former soap star Mike Minor (ex-Brandon Kingsley, All My Children; ex-Royal Dunning, Another World; ex-Norman Garrison, As The World Turns) has passed away.

Former soap star Mike Minor -- known to daytime audiences as All My Children's Brandon Kingsley, Another World's Royal Dunning, and As the World Turns' Norman Garrison -- died of cancer on January 25. The California native was 75.

Having launched his career as Lennie Small on The Edge of Night, Minor went on to Another World and ATWT before landing his most famous role as Petticoat Junction's Steve Elliott. He then starred on My Three Sons, The Beverly Hillbillies, CHiPs and Vega$ before checking into AMC's Pine Valley in 1980.

His role as cosmetic tycoon Brandon is arguably his most famous soap role, as it landed him opposite Susan Lucci's Erica Kane in a passionate affair storyline that prompted Tom Cudahy (Richard Shoberg) to divorce the fictional brunette beauty.

Minor is the son of television producer Don Fedderson (My Three Songs). He married his Petticoat Junction co-star, Linda Kaye Henning, in 1968, but the couple decided to part ways five years later. He had no children.
