The Bold and the Beautiful fans are in for a very fun blast from the past: Ashley Jones is reprising the role of Dr. Bridget Forrester.
"Dr. Bridget Forrester is back, and I love being able to say that!" the actress enthused to Soap Opera Digest, who first reported news of the Tennessee native's return to the CBS soap opera.
According to Jones, Bridget is "back for a very special family occasion." Hmm...
Jones took on the role of Ashley back in 2004 and played the character on contract until 2010. She returned for a few months on recurring status from October 2011 to February 2012 and has made several guest appearances since that time. She was last seen on-screen in February 2016.
Back in December, Jones told Soap Central that she would be more than happy to come back to B&B if given the chance. "I have such deep roots on The Bold and the Beautiful. I played Bridget for so long," she said. "I love the Bell family, I love the writers there, and the producers, the crew, it's such a family. So, to go back and be able to play Brooke's daughter, anytime they want, if it worked out, I'm there."
Her most recent soap gig has been as General Hospital's Parker Forsyth, a role she played from 2016 to 2017. Recent rumors pointed to Jones returning to GH, because it was just announced that her on-screen Port Charles love, Lexi Ainsworth (Kristina Davis), is on her way back to the ABC soap. With her B&B return now on the docket, it is unclear if Jones will be pulling double duty with some GH appearances.
