Fright Night. Frightfest. Boo at the Zoo. Hell Fest. While your local events might have different names, nearly everyone knows about the Halloween-themed spooktaculars that are held in amusement parks around the country. It's all fun and games... until a maniacal killer shows up and actually starts killing people.
Nothing sets the mood for autumn like a good, old-fashioned slasher flick, and lucky for fans of The Bold and the Beautiful, Reign Edwards (Nicole Avant) is serving up plenty of screams in her upcoming horror film Hell Fest.
The gruesome flick, set to hit theaters this Friday, September 28, follows a costumed killer who begins slaying unsuspecting visitors of a theme park who don't realize that the terror isn't all just a fun part of the park experience and that the ghastly murders are real.
Edwards is just dying over the fact that she was able to be a part of Hell Fest, especially as she was able to star with two other major female characters played by Amy Forsyth and Bex Taylor-Klaus.
"See a movie with 3 female leads...uuuuuh YEAH! Call the squad and go," she shared on Instagram about why she signed on to be a part of the film that also features actor Tony Todd.
Though Hell Fest is a modern movie, CBS Films and Lionsgate decided to get creative with the film's most recent teaser trailer and gave it a 1980s Grindhouse vibe. A masked serial killer turns a horror themed amusement park into his own personal playground, terrorizing a group of friends while the rest of the patrons believe that it is all part of the show.
College student Natalie (Forsyth) is visiting her childhood best friend Brooke (Edwards) and her roommate Taylor (Taylor-Klaus). If it was any other time of year these three and their boyfriends might be heading to a concert or bar, but it is Halloween which means that like everyone else they will be bound for HELL FEST -- a sprawling labyrinth of rides, games, and mazes that travels the country and happens to be in town. Every year thousands follow Hell Fest to experience fear at the ghoulish carnival of nightmares.
But for one visitor, Hell Fest is not the attraction -- it is a hunting ground. An opportunity to slay in plain view of a gawking audience, too caught up in the terrifyingly fun atmosphere to recognize the horrific reality playing out before their eyes. As the body count and frenzied excitement of the crowds continues to rise, he turns his masked face to Natalie, Brooke, Taylor and their boyfriends who will fight to survive the night.
