It looks like these days, B&B means booked and busy for Daytime Emmy winner Rome Flynn (ex-Zende Forrester). Deadline reports that Flynn has joined the cast of the Netflix series Raising Dion. Flynn will play a protective yet playful former long-distance runner and Olympic track coach named Tevin Wakefield, who becomes Dion's trainer and mentor.
The Netflix superhero series is based on the Dennis Liu comic that follows Dion and his mother Nicole, who navigate life after his father Mark's (Michael B. Jordan) death. With the help of her husband's best friend Pat, they try to keep Dion's superpowers a secret and protect him from people wanting to exploit him and discover the origin of his powers.
All My Children alum Michael B. Jordan serves as executive producer along with Kenny Goodman, Dennis Liu, and Darren Grant. Raising Dion was one of the top ten most popular series and most popular kids and family series released in 2019. The second season is currently in production in Atlanta. The series also features Alisha Wainwright, Jason Ritter, Ja'Siah Young, Sammi Haney, and Jazmyn Simon.
Deadline is also reporting that Flynn is set to appear in the recurring role of David on the fourth and final season of Netflix's Dear White People. The series, which stems from the 2014 Sundance hit indie film by Justin Simien, is set at a fictional Ivy League institution called Winchester University, where students deal with race relations such as social injustice, activism, and cultural bias.
Flynn won the Outstanding Younger Actor Daytime Emmy Award in 2018 for his portrayal of Zende Forrester Dominguez on the CBS drama The Bold and the Beautiful. After his stint on daytime, he went on to portray Gabriel Maddox on the ABC drama How to Get Away with Murder.
