Congratulations to
Alison Sweeney (
Sami Brady) and husband David Sanov on the birth of their first child. Their son, Benjamin Edward, was born February 25th at 10:30am. The bouncing baby boy weighed in at 7lbs.

Shawn Douglas Brady) was arrested earlier this week at the Des Moines International Airport on charges of public intoxication and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Days of our Lives' head writer, James E Reilly, is continuing his mission to bring back some of the show's more popular characters from years past. For the second time in under two months, the show has announced the return of a long-lost character.

Though unconfirmed by the network, Soap Central has learned that
Nadia Bjorlin (
Chloe Lane) will exit Days of our Lives when her contract expires this summer. The actress has been on recurring status with the show since August 2004.

While rumors of his impending exit from Days of our Lives have been swirling for months, it wasn't until recently that
Eric Winter (
Rex Brady) made an announcement that put the whispering to rest. In a message on his official web site, Winter revealed that he has made the decision to step out of his DAYS role.

Young actor Christopher Gerse (
Will Roberts) was to have made his final on-screen appearance on Days of our Lives, but due to some last minute changes the actor may very well be sticking around for some time to come.

Long-time fans of Days of our Lives may have to do a double take later this summer. Veteran soap opera actor Wayne Northrop will be returning to the show in August - but this time around he will not be reprising his previous DAYS role. Fans may remember that the actor played

Kyle Lowder (
Brady Black) mobilized to sign petitions expressing their support for the young actor. Now, however, fans will have to accept the fact that the show has opted to send the Emmy-nominated star packing.

It has been six months since Soap Central first reported that
Austin Peck (
Austin Reed) would be returning to Days of our Lives. The actor was to have made his return in June, so when July 1st rolled around it was only natural that some fans would write in to ask what was going on.

Some General Hospital fans are scratching their heads and wondering why the role of
Lucas Jones was suddenly recast in late September. After all, until recently the Lucas had been primarily a background character. The role will now be played by
Ben Hogestyn.
