Another familiar face will be returning to Days of our Lives in the near future.
Patrika Darbo (Nancy Wesley) has reportedly been back on the DAYS set. Soap Opera Digest reports that Darbo will reprise her Emmy-nominated role beginning early next year. Darbo's return has been facilitated, at least in part, by the show's decision to bring actress Nadia Bjorlin (Chloe Lane) back into the fold. Darbo plays Bjorlin's on-screen mom. Darbo joined the cast of Days of our Lives in 1998. Defying stereotypes, Darbo quickly became a fan favorite and, in 1999, TV Guide named the actress one of the sexiest soap stars. In 2000, Darbo earned an Outstanding Supporting Actress nomination at the Daytime Emmys.
It's been more than eight years since Darbo was last seen in Salem. In 2003, when Bjorlin opted to exit DAYS, Darbo and her on-screen love interest, Kevin Spirtas (Craig Wesley), were both written off the canvas, too. Darbo did make a brief return in 2005.
A network spokesperson had no comment at this time, but fans can expect to see Darbo's first appearance in mid-to-late January.
