Days of our Lives star Shawn Christian (Daniel Jonas) is recuperating after an injury that landed the actor in the hospital.
"So I'm lying on a gurney about to get stitches in my lip," Christian shared on Twitter on January 5. "How's your Sunday?"
The actor's previous posts indicated that he had been relaxing at the Malibu Rocky Oaks Estate Vineyards prior to sustaining the injury.
"I took an elbow to the mouth," Christian told Soap Opera Digest without elaborating further on whose elbow or how it happened.
According to Christian, it took five stitches to patch up the wound.
"It will be a nice addition to my already existing facial scars," the actor added. "I doubt it will keep me from kissing."
A DAYS rep did not immediately respond to requests about how -- or if -- Christian's banged-up lip would be written into the show. Judging by DAYS' production schedule, the injury would not appear on-screen until the springtime -- long after Christian's lip would have healed in real life.
