Calling all Aussie hunks: Days of our Lives has issued a casting call for a "ruggedly handsome" Australian actor for a 13-week role.
The NBC soap is searching for a talented man to play Dr. Finn, who arrives in Salem to do residency work under Daniel (Shawn Christian).
"We've been wanting to do something with Australia because we've got so many fans down there. So when we became part of the Arena TV family it was like a slam dunk," the show's co-executive producer Greg Meng told TV Tonight. "It's a legitimate role, it's not a beauty search. So we're looking for an actor who can fulfill this role. It's an integral role to the storyline, [and the person chosen] will be involved in a storyline with one of the main characters that starts a little bit before the 50th anniversary but continues through and beyond."
Speaking of the show's anniversary, which will be celebrated with a special episode airing on Monday, November 9, Meng says plans are underway for an unforgettable viewing experience. "Every single fan will be extremely pleased. We have some great surprises and we're honoring the fans from the past and the present," he says. "It's about family -- both younger, and iconic figures. But buckle up because we're going to be leading up to that."
Applications for the role of Finn are open through Sunday, March 22. A short list of applicants will be chosen from the initial pool to film a scene, after which the winner will be flown to Los Angeles to begin shooting. To apply, visit daysofourlives.castasuga.com.
