Fans have been speculating on how Days of our Lives plans to incorporate Kyle Lowder back on the canvas now that his former character, Brady Black, is being played by Eric Martsolf, and the official -- and arguably out of this world -- answer has finally been given: he'll be taking on the role of Roman and Kate's son, Rex Brady.
Lowder took to social media to announce the news, writing: "Rex is comin' to town. This month. Airdate announcement soon. Happy Friday."

News of Lowder's return to DAYS first broke in May, and it immediately had fans questioning how the actor might make his return to the canvas. With Eric Martsolf now playing the character Lowder originated almost 20 years ago, it wasn't clear how the show would bring the popular actor back. As it turns out, the powers that be have decided to cast him in the role of Rex, a character originally played by Eric Winter from 2002 to 2006.
As fans may recall, Rex and his twin sister, Cassie, landed in Salem with a meteor shower in July of 2002. The siblings were half-naked, spoke no English, and were originally believed to be aliens. Genetic testing later revealed that they were really the twin children of Tony DiMera and Marlena Evans, conceived through scientific means. But that also turned out to be a lie, with Rex eventually finding out that his real parents were Roman and Kate.
Aside from the parental drama, Rex's other major storyline while he was on the canvas was a romance with Farah Fath's Mimi Lockhart. With Fath back on the canvas as of today, perhaps fans can look forward to Rex and Mimi 2.0?
After leaving DAYS back in 2005, Lowder went on to play Rick Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful, followed by playing a role on DeVanity. He currently produces and makes appearances on Ladies of the Lake, a digital drama based on a book of the same name by DAYS' executive producer Ken Corday.
