With the entertainment industry at a standstill due to the coronavirus pandemic, cable and streaming platforms are on the hunt for new material to keep their quarantined customers satiated and happy to stay home. USA TV Productions is hoping that its new crime drama, Nova Vita, will be the latest pre-filmed series to get snatched up.
Starring Days of our Lives' Marci Miller (ex-Abigail Deveraux), the ten-episode drama tells the story of best friends/cryptocurrency billionaires Mark Davis (Jared Farid Ward) and Carter Hayes (Micah Hauptman). After becoming embroiled in legal trouble, the pair turns to revolutionary company Nova Vita, which gives them new identities, appearances, and lives after staging their deaths. Soon, the FBI catches on. to the conspiracy, and families are destroyed in the midst of catastrophe. Miller portrays Mark's wife, who is being looked into by the FBI for possibly having something to do with her husband's abrupt death.
"We decided to announce the completed project now as we believe Nova Vita will be a much-welcomed escape for TV audiences around the world facing these difficult times," says co-creator Bagrat Sargsyan in a statement that explains he and his brother, Vaagn, are seeking a distributor for the series. "The high concept thriller is a very popular genre with viewers, both young and old. We can see what has resonated on Netflix, Amazon, and HBO, and Nova Vita will be a plug and play series for the right outlet."
Together with the Sargsyan brothers, former News Corp Executive Marty Pompadur and E! founder Larry Namer are presenting the series that boasts actors Stephen Baldwin, Thomas Beaudoin, Reed Birney, Jonathan Camp, Raymond Cruz, Michel Gill, Robert Knepper, Dean Norris, Jenny Shakeshaft, and Titus Welliver.
"With Hollywood production at a standstill, broadcasters and streaming platforms are hungry for quality content like Nova Vita," said Namer. "The series has it all -- luxury lifestyle, international crime, conspiracy and intrigue. It's sure to have great appeal for viewers around the globe."
