Santa Claus is coming to town, but when he gets there, he's going to have to deal with a lot more naughty than nice. Days of our Lives' Deidre Hall reveals that the current possession storyline that has her character, Marlena Evans, once again doing the devil's bidding is set to continue through Christmas.
The actress revealed the news during yesterday's episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, where she and her DAYS co-star Robert Scott Wilson (Ben Weston) were the day's guest stars alongside 2 Broke Girls and The Neighborhood actress Beth Behrs.
The group first talked about Wilson's love of paintball, and because it was International Day of the Girl, they also talked about women who had inspired them (Wilson named his mother, while Hall named former first lady Eleanor Roosevelt). That was fun and all, but it wasn't until the focus shifted to DAYS' possession storyline that viewers really started having a devil of a good time.
When Clarkson asked the pair about revisiting the iconic story, Wilson declared that he thinks the storyline is "badass," and he feels honored to be carrying the torch of something Hall -- whom he described as a legend -- originated. He then teased that Devil Marlena will be "coming after my baby," which viewers of the show know is in reference to the devil orchestrating conception between Ben and Ciara (Victoria Konefal) so he can use the pair's baby as part of his "big plans."
Wilson warned that the dark storyline is "not for the faint of heart," while Hall previewed that fans better buckle up because it's going to be a long and messy ride. "This story goes all the way through Christmas," she said, "We just finished a huge Christmas show that involves the possession."
Hall also teased that something "amazing" was coming during the holiday shows, but unfortunately, she was interrupted by an excited Clarkson, which means fans will just have to wait to find out what "amazing" thing is on the docket for Christmas.
No matter what's in store, though, it probably had the addition of holy water. Hall shared that when the show embarked on the storyline, DAYS' executive producer Ken Corday sent over holy water and a crucifix. "Every time we do a scene when I'm possessed, I've taken it onstage and offered anybody who would like to have some holy water... and everybody says yes."
"It's the real deal," adds Wilson.
