Fans of Days of our Lives who were thrilled to see Salem couple Will and Sonny appear in Peacock's Beyond Salem and A Very Salem Christmas will be excited to learn that the characters are finally making their way back to the network version of the soap opera.
The exciting news was announced in a promo that dropped on Friday, with actor Billy Flynn getting into character as Chad DiMera and teasing what's in store once DAYS returns from its Winter Olympics hiatus on Monday, February 21.
"Okay, good news, bad news time. The good news: two of my closest friends are coming home to Salem," he previews along with a clip that shows Chad welcoming Will (Chandler Massey) and Sonny (Zach Tinker) back to town after the couple's long stint in Arizona.
But what about that bad news? According to Chad, it's Leo Stark! "Hey, you can like the guy. I think he's a tool," he teases of the bad boy played by Greg Rikaart.
Leo has been a meddler in Will and Sonny's relationship over the years, and whatever trouble the character has planned this time around prompts the couple, also known as WilSon, to seek out Chad's help -- which, as can be seen in the clip below, doesn't exactly go as planned!

Will and Sonny left Salem in September 2020, after both Sonny's original portrayer, Freddie Smith, and Massey were let go due to budgetary restraints. Massey returned to the screen in December of that year for scenes in which Will came home for the holidays, as did Smith, albeit virtually.
Fans saw the return of the characters the following year in the soap's Peacock spinoff, Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem, this time with Zach Tinker (ex-Fenmore Baldwin, The Young and the Restless) in the role of Sonny, which DAYS recast due to Smith moving to Florida. Will and Sonny also played a heavy role in A Very Salem Christmas, which featured the characters writing a holiday story for their Salem friends and family.
Rikaart has been playing DAYS' Leo on-again, off-again since 2018, and he also appeared in the soap's 2021 Peacock spinoffs. The actor, who also plays Y&R's Kevin Fisher, is thrilled to be back on the network version of the NBC soap, exclaiming, "I'm so excited for Leo's return to Salem. Great stuff ahead!"
