The past year has seen a lot of changes for the world of daytime television, from months of classic episodes to changes in production protocols. There's one more change -- but this one is definitively more fun.
In a change of pace, the nominees in two Daytime Emmys categories were announced tonight on Entertainment Tonight. This marks the first time that any nominations have been announced a day before the official nominations announcement. Only one of the categories was soap-related, but it was a biggie: Outstanding Lead Actress.
The other early announced category featured the nominees for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host. Those nominees were Drew Barrymore, Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest, and Kelly Clarkson for their self-titled shows, as well as Sean Evans for Hot Ones First We Feast, and the Today Show's Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager.
The entire list of Daytime Emmys nominations will be announced tomorrow, Tuesday, May 25. Soap Central will post the list as soon as it becomes available -- so be sure to check in starting at 12pm Eastern. The 48th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will be broadcast in primetime on CBS on Friday, June 25, and will stream live on Paramount+ at the same time.
