Scott Reeves (Steven Webber) informed fans via Twitter that he's exiting General Hospital. The actor wrapped up a three-year run on GH earlier today.
Rumors of Reeves's possible exit began to swirl when the actor wrote, "Love you all! Looking forward to seeing what God has next!"
As fans began to speculate what the actor's Twitter post meant, Reeves returned to social media to clear up any and all doubt: he'd been let go by the ABC soap.
"Hey guys, u know how much u mean 2 me and I wanted u 2 hear it from me," Reeves added. "I was let go from GH today and my last day should b in Feb sometime."
General Hospital's executive producer, Frank Valentini, also generated buzz with a post on his own Twitter account.
"Amazing scenes taped today with @lisalocicero [Olivia Falconeri]," Valentini wrote. "[C]an't wait for you all to see them."
LoCicero is Reeves's on-screen love interest, which certainly lends itself to the possibility of a very dramatic exit for Reeves's on-screen alter ego.
LoCicero, meanwhile, weighed in with words of encouragement for her now-former co-star.
"I'll never worry for you... But I miss you already," LoCicero shared.
Reeves joined General Hospital in December 2009, in what started off as a recurring role. Several months later, Reeves inked a contract with GH.
Prior to landing on General Hospital, Reeves spent a decade as Ryan McNeil on CBS's The Young and the Restless.
Despite teasing future story, ABC has not commented on Reeves's exit from GH.
