Despite a recent interview in which General Hospital's new head writers claimed they were not planning to bring on any new characters at this time, the powers that be are reportedly on the hunt for a new front-burner actor.

According to a recent casting breakdown, ABC's lone soap is searching for a Caucasian man aged 32 to 37. The description says the actor playing the character should be "very sexy, dynamic and charismatic. A bonafide leading man."

So who might this new character be? If behind-the-scenes rumblings about one of the show's leading men wanting out to head to another soap are true, this "new" role could be a recast.

The role is schedule to begin shooting in late November.
