General Hospital's Jane Elliot, who opted to leave the role of Tracy Quartermaine after nearly 40 years of playing the popular character, will soon be making her exit from the ABC soap.
The official GH Twitter account posted a fond farewell to the legendary actress that included a tease about Tracy's final moments.
"Bittersweet news alert -- it's our honor to announce the beginning of Tracy Quartermaine's last escapade," the show wrote, followed by, "Tune in [on April 13] to witness the beginning of Jane Elliot's final #GH arc, a month-long story that will culminate on 5/4/17."

As previously reported, Elliot has been mulling retirement from GH for quite some time.
"It will be very hard to leave GH. There are people in that building who have been a part of my life for 38 years, and I will miss them dearly," she said in an interview last year. "But I want to keep growing, learning new things, living in new places, in order to expand my mind. Thank God for soap operas, I have raised two kids who are now grown and on their own. This has been the best job possible for any actor who is a mom."
In addition to playing Tracy since 1978, Elliot played Guiding Light's Carrie Todd, All My Children's Cynthia Chandler, and Days of our Lives' Anjelica Deveraux. She also briefly took GH's Tracy to the short-lived Loving spinoff The City.
