General Hospital's Michael Easton (Hamilton Finn; ex-Silas Clay, GH; ex-John McBain, GH/One Life to Live) is becoming quite the filmmaker. Michael's latest short film, First Strike Butcher Knife, racked up a pretty serious honor: the film took part in the Cannes Film Festival.
Though the film was not part of the renowned competition, it was selected as part of the collection of shorts that were screened during the festival.
"At the Cannes Film Festival? No, me neither," Easton shared on his Facebook page last week. "But if you are, be sure to check out First Strike Butcher Knife."
The 12-minute First Strike Butcher Knife is the third short Easton has written and directed within the last two years. The others were Dreamliner and Ultraviolent -- the latter won the 2015 Best Shorts Competition Best of Show (the Grand Prize Award) at the 2016 Canada International Film Festival and the Special Jury Prize at the 2015 Barcelona Film Festival.
First Strike Butcher Knife stars Easton's friends and former OLTL cast mates Trevor St. John (ex-Todd Manning; ex-Victor Lord Jr.) and real-life husband and wife team Kamar de los Reyes (Antonio Vega) and Sherri Saum (ex-Keri Reynolds).
In case you weren't able to head to Cannes, here is a special behind-the-scenes look at the making of First Strike Butcher Knife.
