Port Charles is about to become a little more diverse because General Hospital is looking to fill the role of a new African American character.
Daytime Confidential reports that the ABC soap has put out a casting call for a "beautiful, dynamic, complex" young black woman aged, 24 to 29, for the part, said to be a contract role.
At this time, there's no hint as to whether or not the upcoming character will be brand new to audiences, but rumor has it the powers that be may be looking to bring back a member of the Ward family, which was introduced back in 1994 with the addition of Edward Quartermaine's former mistress, Mary Mae Ward (Rosalind Cash).
