After a several-month-long absence from General Hospital, Kirsten Storms (Maxie Jones) is back and better than ever. And she reveals that her ex-husband, Brandon Barash (ex-Johnny Zacchara), is largely responsible for helping her through her battle with serious depression.
The actress shared her personal story at the GH fan club, explaining that Barash, who's also the father of her daughter, Harper, was the one who stepped in and helped her realize that she needed help.
"Brandon was the one who came to me and said, 'I think we need to get your life settled and fixed because you're going down a path and I almost don't recognize you,'" Storms told Soap Hub.
Barash was also the one who approached GH executive producer Frank Valentini to arrange some time off for the actress to recover.
"We decided I'd have three months off to get myself healthy, and then I had an extra month at home to just settle back in," she shares. "The difference of figuring out the [right] medication for my depression has changed my life."
