General Hospital actress Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis) has never been one to hold her tongue if she can help it, and it won't be any different when it comes to the juicy reveals set for her upcoming memoir.
Grahn took to social media to share that she is in the midst of writing a book about her life. And given the amount of honesty she dishes out each day on her Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram pages, the book will be a can't miss project that gives the real story of what it's like to be a part of the soap opera community.
"Much to tell and most of it I can't. But I am writing about it for hours at a time in my book. The good and the not so good," Grahn teases about the writing she's already started. "There are many times that I've had to hold my tongue, which as you can imagine is not an easy thing for me. Well, I won't be doing that in my book. I will tell tales about the loves of my life, and the not so much ones. I will spell out the names of the many that unconditionally helped build [my daughter] Kate and me, and misspell with enough room for you to make good educated guesses the names of the very few who pissed me off."
She continues, "I will not hold back about my soap journey and hopefully make you laugh at my tripping through most areas of my life to get to where I am now...still tripping through most areas of my life. It will be the whole truth and nothing but the truth... except for the parts that could get me sued. I long to tell you things and not sure that I should.. but I'm doing it anyway. Writing it feels good."
Grahn's first television role was Marco Dane's secretary Beverly Wilkes on One Life to Life, which she played from 1978 to 1982. From 1985 to 1993, she played headstrong lawyer Julia Wainwright on Santa Barbara. As fans may recall, Julia was a departure from the traditional "damsel in distress" or vixen roles; she was an intelligent, uncompromising woman who was paired with Mason Capwell (Lane Davies) in a Spencer Tracy/Katherine Hepburn-esque romance. Grahn won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Julia in 1989 (All My Children actress Debbie Morgan [ex-Angie Hubbard] also won in a tie situation that year). In 1996, Grahn was cast on General Hospital as Alexis Davis, another headstrong lawyer. She has been nominated for several Daytime Emmys in the role, winning in the Outstanding Supporting Actress category in 2012.
Grahn's memoir will follow that of Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos), whose book, Nothing General About It: How Love (and Lithium) Saved Me On and Off General Hospital, is set to be released in the spring of 2020.
