Television viewers will never forget the scene from Modern Family's pilot in which youngster Manny Delgado (Rico Rodriguez) fell in love with 16-year-old Brenda Feldman and decided to read a poem to her at the mall -- despite his stepfather Jay's (Ed O'Neill) attempts to stop his passionate confession of love. But what many fans don't know is that the actress who played the role of Brenda was General Hospital star Hayley Erin (ex-Kiki Jerome). Now, almost eleven years later, she returned to Modern Family to wrap up what turned out to be a storyline arc a decade in the making.
After Manny read Brenda that poem back in 2009, he was crushed to learn that she had a boyfriend. However, she tried to smooth over the awkward situation by giving him a framed picture of himself as a cowboy. When Manny returned to his parents, he glumly reported, "I gave her my heart, and she gave me a picture of me as an old-time cowboy."
Now that Modern Family is in its final season, the writers decided to revisit that iconic scene and give Manny the happy ending he deserves.
"Brenda Feldman returned to Modern Family last night, and she got the guy!" Erin shared on Twitter along with a screengrab of her in the role back in 2009 and another of her recent appearance, which aired on January 15, 2020.

Erin is loved by daytime fans for playing the roles of GH's Kiki from 2015 to 2019 and The Young and the Restless' Abby Newman from 2008 to 2010. Her most recent project was playing the role of Taylor Hotchkiss on the Pretty Little Liars spinoff The Perfectionists. As that show was recently canceled, many GH fans are hoping she'll return to the role of Silas and Ava's daughter.
