Talk about surprise casting news! Kim Delaney, best known to daytime fans as All My Children's Jenny Gardner, has joined the cast of General Hospital.
According to a report from Deadline, Delaney will begin filming tomorrow and make her on-screen debut no later than early October.
As for the other details, like who she'll be playing and how long she'll be sticking around? GH is keeping those details under wraps. As you might expect, speculation has run rampant on social media. AMC fans, however, are hoping that Delaney will get some scenes with her former on-screen brother, Michael E. Knight (Martin Gray, ex-Tad Martin, AMC).
Delaney's All My Children run began in 1981 and ended in 1984. Her character's death in a jet ski explosion remains one of AMC's most controversial deaths. After AMC, Delaney found primetime success on NYPD Blue and Lifetime's Army Wives. In 1997, her work as Diane Russell on NYPD Blue earned her an Outstanding Supporting Actress Primetime Emmy win. The role also garnered two Golden Globe nominations.
