One Life to Live fans that rejoiced when David Fumero (Cristian Vega) returned to the show in November 2004 may want to take a deep breath before continuing to read this article. A show spokesperson has confirmed that the actor will soon be exiting Llanview again.
The Cuban-born actor, who was raised in Miami, Florida, joined the cast of One Life to Live in June 1998. Prior to becoming an actor, Fumero was a member of the U.S. Marine Corps and a model. Five-and-half years after joining the OLTL canvas, Fumero announced that he would leave the show to pursue other projects.
During his time away from One Life to Live, Fumero moved to the West Coast.
While it is not typically network policy to comment on an actor's contract, a One Life to Live spokesperson has confirmed that Fumero only signed a four-month deal with the show. Fumero's return engagement was already in place when Dena Higley assumed the reins as head writer and the task of writing a four month story for Fumero fell squarely in her lap.
While an exact date for Fumero's farewell has not been released, it is expected to fall sometime in mid-February.
