Paulo Benedeti was born in Colombia, South America. At the age of six, his family moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Paulo quickly blended in to his new homeland, learning English with an authentic American accent, while maintaining his fluency in Spanish.
An excellent student and recipient of a musical engineering award, Paulo was also agile on the playing field. He won the Most Valuable Player and Athlete of the Year awards as a starting player on both the junior varsity and varsity basketball teams at Boca Raton High School. He attended Florida Atlantic University, majoring in computer science and engineering.
His first break in the entertainment field came when a friend asked him to accompany her to an audition at a modeling agency in Miami. They signed him instead of her and sent him out immediately on an assignment. A producer of the television show Out of the Blue met Paulo and cast him in the pilot. Once the show was picked up, Paulo became a series regular on the program.
While in New York for a modeling job, Benedeti auditioned for Guiding Light. Paulo landed the part and portrayed the character of Jesse Blue on the CBS daytime drama for three years, receiving an Alma Award nomination as Best Actor for his work. A successful audition with the producers of B&B led to his contract role on the show.
Paulo spends his time surfing, snowboarding, mountain biking and generally enjoying the great outdoors, and also plays both the guitar and the keyboards. Paulo currently resides in Los Angeles with his dog, Stoli, and celebrates his birthday on August 3, although he often visits Florida, where his family still resides. He is 6'0 with dark blonde hair and green eyes.
