Tracy Melchior was born in Hollywood, Florida and raised in Colorado. She began acting in high school and credits her acting teacher as an early source of inspiration. Tracy continued acting at Colorado State University, where she majored in sociology, with plans to continue on to law school.
Melchior's life took a detour when she decided to move to California, where her older sister lived on the outskirts of Los Angeles. Tracy started working as a receptionist for a manufacturing company to make ends meet and slept on the floor of a girlfriend's apartment in L.A. in order to stay close to the city. Tracy then got a job teaching aerobics and began doing some fitness and swimwear catalog modeling. She landed an agent who lined up numerous commercials for products such as Old Spice, Nike, Coca-Cola, Budweiser and Toyota.
This exposure led Melchior to guest starring roles on various television shows including My So Called Life, Dream On, Weird Science and Silk Stalkings. Tracy also worked with Billy Crystal and Eddie Murphy in the feature films Mr. Saturday Night and Beverly Hills Cop III. Following a brief appearance on The Young and the Restless, Tracy signed a contract to play the villain Tess Marin on Sunset Beach.
Following the cancellation of Sunset Beach, Melchior took time off to start a family. Since successfully auditioning for the role of Kristen on B&B, Tracy found working in daytime television to be a perfect job for a mom. Thanks to the support from everyone at B&B, Tracy is often able to bring her newborn to the set, so as not to miss any of the important moments in her son's life.
When not on the set, Tracy lives in a small town outside of L.A. with her husband Rob, son Kyle, two horses and a dog. She loves riding horses, motorcycles and country dancing (two-step and swing). Tracy stands 5'7" with blonde hair and blue eyes. She celebrates her birthday on June 22.
