Born in La Mirada, California, Eric Winter didn't always want to be an actor. He is an only child; his father, Wayne, runs an investigative business, and his mother, Gwen, runs a theatrical fabric business. After graduating from Los Altos High School, where he played both football and volleyball, he went on to graduate from UCLA with a degree in psychology.
During his time in college, he shed thirty pounds of extra football weight and, after a girlfriend suggested it as a way to pay the bills, found himself an agent, and was soon juggling classes with acting workshops and modeling shoots, which often took him all over the world. His most prestigious modeling job to date was a high-profile print campaign for Tommy Hilfiger. In addition to his television work, Eric has also been featured in a number of national commercials, including commercials for 7-Up and Mitsubishi.
Eric is married to model/actress Allison Ford. They make their home in Los Angeles, CA.
