Lauralee Bell (Christine Williams) is headed back to The Young and the Restless for another extended run on the CBS soap. It will mark the actress' second such return in under a year.
It's been more than four years since Bell last appeared as a contract player on The Young and the Restless. Since then, she has appeared sporadically in Genoa City. Her most recent appearance began in mid-July 2010 and ran through late-September 2010.
Bell has repeatedly been courted by Y&R execs, including one made at a 2008 "power lunch" with her mother, Y&R co-creator Lee Phillip Bell, and sister-in-law, co-head writer Maria Arena Bell.
Instead, Bell has focused her attention on being a mom, operating a Los Angeles-based clothing boutique, and creating the online series Family Dinner.
Bell originated the role of Christine in 1983. In 1996, she earned a Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress.
Bell will first appear on January 13, 2011. The return is short-term and will last "several weeks."
