Hold onto your hats because The Young and the Restless' Alicia Coppola (Dr. Meredith Gates; ex-Lorna Devon, Another World) has been cast in the military family drama film Cowgirl's Story, which also happens to star Days of our Lives' Jordi Vilasuso (Dario Hernandez).
Written, directed, and co-produced by Timothy Armstrong and inspired by Louisa May Alcott's classic Little Women, Cowgirl's Story tells the stories of high school cowgirls holding down the home front while their military parents are on duty in Afghanistan.
Deadline reports that Coppola will play Lt. Helen Rhones, a helicopter pilot in Afghanistan and mom to Dusty Rhodes (played by Vilasuso's sister-in-law, Bailee Madison). Vilasuso is reportedly set to make an appearance as a character named Mike.
Meanwhile, it seems Coppola will be quite a busy lady in the weeks ahead. In addition to the film role, the actress will be performing stand-up comedy at Caroline's On Broadway on Tuesday, June 14. For more information and to purchase tickets, check out the venue's official website.
Vilasuso, meanwhile, has already appeared in one well-reviewed movie this year, the lock-your-doors-and-hide thriller The Invitation.
