Beth Maitland makes "perfect" return to Y&R

Beth Maitland is back on set at The Young and the Restless for a return appearance as Traci Abbott.

Good news, The Young and the Restless fans: Beth Maitland is bringing her popular character, Traci Abbott, back to Genoa City.

The actress took to social media to announce that she's back on set at the CBS soap and couldn't be more thrilled -- especially because she's been placed in the dressing room of the late, great Jeanne Cooper (ex-Katherine Chancellor).

"Perfect start to a perfect day," Maitland wrote along with a photo of herself outside the beloved former Y&R actress' door. "This is where I'll be spending my week."

Speaking of doors, Maitland returned to Y&R last November to much fanfare and said at the time that she is grateful the door remains open for her to make return visits to Genoa City.

"We go through periods where it's all about explosions and times where all they want are young people in bathing suits," she said. "I'm just so grateful that every once in a while the soaps swing back to legacy characters and family and relationships. The term 'moral compass' is overused completely, but a show needs that grandma or that aunt who represents goodness and hope and heart."

Watch for Maitland's return to the Y&R canvas beginning October 9.
