All My Children has cast one of its first new performers under the oversight of Prospect Park. Denyse Tontz has joined AMC as the newly aged Miranda Montgomery.
"Well! Looks like news gets out quick," Tontz mused on Twitter. "I am happy to announce that I will be joining the cast of All My Children as Miranda Montgomery!!"
It was previously reported that another newcomer, Jordan Lane Price, had been cast as Miranda.
During its initial casting phase in January, All My Children had originally put out the casting notice for Miranda under the name "Charlotte."
The 18-year-old Tontz began her career as a child model for Mattel and Target. She then transitioned to acting, appearing in several television series, including Big Time Rush, Dog with a Blog, and Shake It Up! All My Children is Tontz's first soap role.
Miranda, the daughter of Bianca Montgomery, was born on-screen in March 2004. As previously reported, Emmy winner Eden Riegel will be reprising her role as Bianca when AMC relaunches.
When All My Children returns to the airwaves, the show will have jumped five years into the future. That was necessary, according to numerous actors attached to the project, because many of the performers who were part of All My Children's ABC finale in 2011 are no longer available to continue with the show. Another of the show's youngsters has also been recast: Eric Nelsen has been cast as AJ Chandler. For more information on that recast, click here.
