Bo and Shawn-D are having breakfast at the Java Café. Shawn-D wants to know if his parents will reunite. Bo tells him he wants that more than anything. He then asks about the Princess Gina thing and tells his dad that he wants her to drop it, that it could be too dangerous with Stefano involved. Bo tells him not to worry about it. Bo changes the subject to Christmas and tells him that he has a surprise for Hope.
Hope is trying to play the song 'Que Sera Sera' again but isn't having much luck. Alice is shocked as Hope explains about the Gina transformations. Alice gives her some sage advice...quit worrying about Gina and concentrate on HOPE. They talk about Bo and Hope tells her that she loves him with all her heart and Alice asks what is keeping them apart. She says that they need to marry as soon as possible. Hope tries to explain that she is worried something will tear them apart again. Her instincts are telling her to be careful
Alice tells her that she and Bo have always loved each other and that she knows they are soul mates and that is all that matters. Hope thanks her for helping and taking in Greta and that maybe she can solve the mystery of her past and move on with Bo. Alice tells her that she and Bo can solve the mystery together as they did in the past. Hope reminds her that she was a big part of helping as well and they share a smile. Later, Hope is seen banging on the piano again trying to play the song. She goes to the phone and calls Lili Faversham. Lili is excited to hear her voice, but tells her that she hasn't been doing well and is terribly depressed since she left. They catch up a bit and Hope tells her that she has proof now that she isn't Princess Gina. Lili tells her that she will ALWAYS be her Princess Gina. Hope says she will explain when she sees her...she and Bo may be coming to Lugano after the first of the year.
Lili invites her to Lugano for Christmas, but Hope declines, saying she wants to spend time with her family. Instead, Hope invites her to Salem and Lili says she will think about it. After they end the call, she summons Lucille to make travel arrangements to Salem. She says it will be the best medicine for her. Lucille is none to thrilled about it.
Austin and Carrie continue their argument over Sami and Lucas at the hospital. He wants to know if something has happened between them. Carrie remembers the kiss in the rain and says no. She tries to explain about Sami, but Austin gets defensive. Carrie wants to know why they just can't agree to disagree about Sami and Lucas. Austin tells her that he doesn't like how she runs to Mike every time she has a problem
He brings up the baby issue again and she says she wants to wait until after the trial to begin trying. He asks what if...she is already pregnant? But before it goes any farther, his beeper goes off and he heads off to court. They tell each other I love you and they kiss and he leaves. Craig shows up and Carrie asks him where Mike is. He says probably having fun with Ali and lost track of time. This doesn't sit too well with Carrie. Winston and Lewis show up and want to know where Mike is...they need his new budget for a meeting. Carrie covers for him and then decides to go and get him and bring him back to the hospital.
At Salem Place, Mike tries to console Ali after dumping her. She continues not to take no for an answer. He becomes frustrated with her. She prattles on and he stops her and says it isn't going to happen...there is no future for them. She gets angry and they argue. She says that he only used her for sex. He apologizes but she ain't buying it. She walks away, but he stops her. He says that he cares about her, but not like she wants. But she just can't seem to get it through her head. He says the problem isn't her...it's him.
She asks if he is in love with another woman and he denies it and says the fact is that he just doesn't love HER. He asks if they can be friends. She explodes and says that is the LAST thing she wants and she hates what he did to them. She storms off. As Mike sits there alone feeling guilty, someone walks up and asks if he is okay. Back at the hospital, Craig runs into Ali outside and she tells him that Mike just dumped her...that he just threw her away like the garbage. Craig consoles her and says he will help her anyway he can.
Lucas is watching television and decides he must get to the courthouse. He changes into a suit and frantically looks for Taylor to drive him. The maid tells him that are running errands and that she can't drive. He calls for a cab but that is going to take too long, so he tells them to forget it. He rushes to the garage and decides to drive himself. He has trouble starting the car but finally gets going. On his way, he says he must get to the courthouse and tell them that it was him that killed Franco. He apologizes to Kate on his way, but he must tell, even if it means he and his mom will go to jail. He hears a siren and is afraid he will get stopped and go to jail for driving with a suspended license. The cop passes him, and so he continues on his way.
Roman and Kate are still out in the hall as Roman tells her that he has a witness. She slips and says that is impossible that there was only one other person who knows what happened. Roman antenna goes up but she covers and says she was talking about Franco. He leads her to believe that he has an eyewitness and she becomes worried. He tells her about Candy. Kate says that is good news and will help take the pressure off Sami, but Roman still thinks Kate is hiding something. Austin shows up and hopes he doesn't say anything to hurt Sami's case. Kate, Roman and Austin go into the courtroom.
Inside, the DA was continuing his opening statements. He concludes by saying that they are going for the death penalty and there are murmurs all around. Mickey gives his opening statement with a self-defense strategy. When he finishes, Marlena, Caroline and Shawn all tell him that he did a good job. The DA calls the Medical Examiner and both question him. His testimony is finishing up as Austin, Kate and Roman enter. The DA calls Austin to the stand and he recalls the events of the day of the wedding. Austin is very helpful...to the prosecution that is, when he says that Sami vowed to "kill the bastard". Mickey cross examines him and he testifies as to what a good person and mother Sami is. He says that she would never kill anyone...he stakes his life on it. The DA begins to question Austin about the relationship between Sami and Lucas. You hear a huge ruckus outside of the courtroom as the doors fly open and all heads turn. As Lucas rushes into the courtroom, Kate looks terrified.
Craig grabs Ali and gets her to sit down and tell him all about Mike dumping her. He starts bad mouthing Mike and saying that Mike was just using her and only wanted to get her in bed by making promises he didn't keep. Ali wonders who made Mike change his mind - it must have been Carrie she says. She knows that Carrie was probably bad mouthing her to Mike every chance she could get. Ali knows that Mike did not mean what he said and that she knows she can convince him that they belong together.
While they are talking Craig's cell phone rings - it's Nancy calling to tell him about the commotion at the court house and when Craig tells her about Mike and Ali she's upset that she is missing all the good stuff since she is stuck at the courthouse. Craig gets back to Ali and she says she is going to talk to try to convince Mike that they can be together. Craig tries to tell her that Mike was just using his power to get her in bed but she says that Mike is not like that. She gets up to leave and Craig stops her saying she shouldn't try to go to Mike and he knows of a way to get even with Mike. He tells her she has a very good case of sexual harassment.
Carrie has walked up on Mike and sees that he seems upset. She knew that he was there with Ali but she came to remind him about the budget. Mike says he totally forgot about it and Carrie says she will help him meet the deadline. She asks if he's OK and he says he's fine and does not tell her about Ali. Mike then says he needs to head to the hospital and get the budget done and that he might be there all night
She pressures Mike again as to what is bothering him and he finally tells her about breaking it off with Ali - after all he says she will find out soon enough. Carrie says he did the right thing before things got too intimate with them. Mike doesn't tell her just how far the relationship went. Carrie asks him why he made the decision to break it off but he doesn't tell her anything as he remembers them kissing in the rain.
Stefano comes in saying that he is going to marry Vivian and take her with him. John says no that he has power of attorney and he will not allow Stefano to take her out without having these tests completed. Stefano asks to be alone with Viv and the doctor agrees as they all go behind the 2-way mirror. Viv says they are watching them but Stefano says he knows that and he shouts at the mirror. He makes Ivan give him the engagement ring before they leave them alone and Ivan swears he will never allow Stefano to marry Viv. Stefano puts the ring back on Viv and says that is where it belongs.
While all this is going on Marlena calls to check on things and John asks if she can get away and come help him. She promises to do what she can. She does manage to get away from the courthouse and arrives at the institution. She walks in and sees Greta. She then asks how Stefano found Viv and accuses Greta of telling him. Greta says she did not tell him but Marlena does not believe her. John asks the doctor to rush the necessary actions needed to get Viv admitted and he leaves. John decides Stefano has had enough time with Viv and they all rejoin them. Greta is kind of hanging back while Marlena is trying to convince John that she is not to be trusted. The doctor comes back to say he has rescheduled Viv's MRI for in the morning and for some reason. At her room Stefano tells Viv he will get her out of there and he has a plan and to trust him. He also tells her if she had given him Power of Attorney to begin with she would not be going through all this.
Lucas comes in the courtroom saying he wants to address the court. One of the jurors asked Nancy who that was and she says he is Lucas Roberts - half-brother to Mike Horton who is the COS as the hospital where she and her husband work. The judge wants to know what Lucas wants as everyone in the courtroom talk among themselves. Kate is about to have a heart attack as she thinks Lucas is about to blow everything. Sami jumps up and hollers at Lucas that he is just there to gloat and rub it in that she is on trial and he went free. Lucas gets to the judge and as he is about to say something he passes out. Kate rushes to him but that's it - they don't call a paramedic or anything they just let him lie there. He comes to and sits down in a chair as Roman is right there to start drilling him with questions. Kate asks him to let Lucas get his breath. Sami is shouting that Lucas is not going to cause problems as he says she has it all wrong. Before he can say anything Sami spills the beans about Candy and that she will probably get off. Kate looks at Lucas and says isn't that great. Roman starts questioning why he is there again and Lucas says that he and Taylor had a long talk and he thinks he and Sami should try to get along for Will's sake and he's there to offer support. Sami does not want his support and says he will never see Will again.
Kate asks where Taylor is and Lucas says he drove himself. Roman quickly says it's a violation of his parole. Sometime during all this someone asks Austin where Carrie is and he says at the hospital as he remembers Kate telling him that if he continues to support Sami he will drive Carrie away and into Mike's arms. Kate and Lucas go outside the courtroom as the judge calls things back to order and Austin gets back on the stand. Kate tells Lucas that it looks like Sami might get off and that he needs to keep his mouth shut. He agrees to keep quiet and Roman comes out to take him down to the police station for violation of his parole. Inside Sami is talking to Eric and trying to figure out why Lucas showed up and she remembers the conversation she had with Lucas at the hospital when he almost spilled the beans. She tells Eric that she thinks Lucas knows something and she is going to find out what.
At the sanitarium, John et al are still trying to keep Stefano from taking Vivian. Greta is feeling down and Marlena apologizes for being harsh with her. Greta knows that Marlena thinks she's a liar and she tells Marlena that she would never help Stefano do something evil. Marlena says that John speaks so highly about her, but Greta tells Marlena that no matter what Father John says, she (Marlena) still doesn't trust her. Greta swears to Marlena that she is telling the truth and says that they both share one thing in common, they both love John. Greta says she wants to help John discover the truth because she doesn't know much about her mother, including how she died. Greta swears that she is not involved with Stefano and she can believe her or not. Meanwhile, John convinces the doctor to give Vivian her MRI today.
Stefano walks Vivian back to her room. Vivian wants to leave and Stefano tells her that he has a plan, and she must do as he says. Stefano tells Vivian that he will return tonight to get her out, but she must not tell anyone. John et al, show up to see Vivian and Stefano begins to push the buttons randomly so they don't think she can handle taking a test today. The doctor tells John that Vivian cannot undergo an MRI in this condition, it must wait until tomorrow. Celeste helps Vivian get into bed and John asks Stefano what he wants from his aunt. Stefano says that he only loves Vivian and wants to marry her. John tells Stefano that while Vivian is recovering, he is not to visit her. Stefano says very well, but in the long run Vivian will be with him. Stefano offers to help Greta remove the rest of her scars, but Marlena tells Stefano that Bo is taking care of that. Stefano leaves and Marlena asks Ivan to take Greta back to the Horton house. Ivan and Greta leave and John asks Marlena what it's going to take for her to trust Greta. Marlena tells John that she can't help but think Greta is Stefano's pawn and she tells John it's not like him to be so gullible. Outside, Stefano calls someone and tells them Vivian won't be in Greenhaven much longer and they are to get the potion ready.
Ali and Craig go to the Cheatin Heart. Ali is heartbroken and Craig tells her not to get upset, get even. Craig tells her that Mike convinced her she would get the head nurse job to get her into bed, but Ali says that is not how it happened. Ali tells Craig that once things settle down, Mike will realize he loves her. Craig says that won't happen because Mike is one of the type of guys who uses woman as sex objects. Ali asks Craig why he is doing this, what's in it for him? Craig says he just doesn't want to see her hurt. Ali says she loves Mike and will get him back, so she's not going to sue him. Ali says that Mike has just been under a lot of stress because of the job and Carrie is trying to turn Mike against him. Ali says that she'll get him back when she proves Carrie is a back-stabbing little bitch. Craig tells Ali that Mike dumped her because he doesn't love her, but hints that there could be someone else. Ali asks Craig if he knows something he's not telling her. Craig tells her that Mike could never love her because he loves Carrie. Craig admits that he made up the lie about Mike only caring about his career to spare her the pain. Ali tells Craig he is wrong and he will prove it. Ali walks out and Nancy shows up to see Craig. Craig tells Nancy that he told Ali that Mike loves Carrie.
Mike and Carrie arrive at the hospital and Carrie offers to stay the night with him to help him with the budget. Mike doesn't think Austin would like that, but Carrie says Austin will be out late with Sami. Judy runs into Mike and she thanks Mike for giving her this wonderful job and thanks Carrie for the flattering press release. Judy asks Carrie if she can talk with Mike alone, so Carrie leaves. Judy tells Mike that Ali hasn't shown up for work and she hasn't called, which isn't like her. Mike tells Judy not to worry about Ali just yet. Carrie asks Mike if there is a problem and he tells Carrie that he's just worried about Ali. Mike says that he thought he could commit to Ali, but he just wasn't ready.
Carrie tells him that one day he'll find the right woman who will make him happy. Mike tells Carrie that he couldn't lie to Ali about his feelings, he couldn't be with her just because he couldn't be with . . . . . Mike says it was just a mistake. Carrie says he's right, she never thought Ali was the right one for him. As they both reach for a notepad, they come very close. Suddenly, Ali shows up and is right outside of Mike's office door. At the courthouse, the DA grills Austin about the day of the murder and how Sami threatened to kill Franco and later he found her by Franco with the gun in her hand. The DA asks him if there is any doubt in his mind that Sami killed Franco. Austin says no, but . . . . However, the DA cuts him off.
Outside the courtroom, Roman tells Kate that if Lucas cooperates by not with withholding evidence, then he won't prosecute him for violating his probation. Kate says this is preposterous, but Roman says if Lucas helps Sami, he will help Lucas. Abe shows up and asks to talk to Roman in private. Lucas tells Kate that he thinks he'll take Roman's deal, but Kate says that this is a trap and they may not need their help thanks to Candy. Abe talks to Roman and tells him that he has to testify, but doesn't want to hurt Sami. Roman tells Abe that he understands he has to do his job. Abe is then called into the courtroom.
Roman returns to Kate and Lucas and asks Lucas if he's ready to tell the truth. Kate and Roman argue and Lucas says that he never meant to hurt Sami. Lucas says he always wanted to do the right thing and Roman adds that Kate is keeping him from doing that. Roman tells Lucas that as much as he hates Sami, could he allow Will to lose his mother? Lucas says he doesn't want that to happen, so Roman tells him to come clean. Lucas says he'll tell him everything that happened that night. Lucas tells Roman that he went into the house and got Will, but went back into the house to get Will's teddy bear. Roman asks if he saw Sami and Franco fighting, but he says no. Lucas then has this premonition of going to prison and his mom scolding him when they are both old and grey. Lucas tells Roman that he didn't see anybody or anything. Roman doesn't believe him because Will's teddy bear wasn't found in the car wreckage, so something stopped him from getting it. Lucas said it was just too big of a risk. Roman tells Lucas that later they'll take a little trip to the station. Roman goes into the courtroom and Kate tells Lucas that he did the right thing.
Abe is sworn in and talks about the murder. He says that the first things Sami said when she regained consciousness was "oh my God, what have I done." He goes on to say that Sami said "you lying bastard, you deserved to die." He also says that there was no sign of struggle and the only prints on the gun where Sami's. Furthermore, Abe confirms that Sami hid the weapon in a locked drawer and nobody else knew where it was. The DA asks Abe that is there is any doubt in his mind that this was anything but premeditated murder, and Abe says no.
When court is adjourned, Roman tells Mickey that Lucas knows more than he's admitting and if he is put on the stand, Lucas could crack. Later, Kate tries to get Abe to cut Lucas some slack, but Lucas says he deserves to be punished. Roman commends him, but says it's too bad he isn't man enough to help Sami. Kate tells Roman that she may be able to help Sami by testifying for the defense. Eric tells Sami that he may know how to help Sami get her memory back.
At Stefano's mansion, they are arguing about the potion. Stefano wants to use it, Rolf does not. Of course, Rolf relents. Rolf wants to know what he wants to do with the potion. Before he can answer, the door rings. It's Roberta, a nurse, who works for Stefano and at Greenhaven. Stefano and the nurse discuss the plan.
Vivian is in her room, remembering the plot with Stefano to escape from Greenhaven. Celeste returns and Viv starts in on her about being a so-called friend. Viv is paranoid that John and Marlena have committed her against her will. She tells Celeste that she does not want to be protected against Stefano. Viv and Celeste get into it about how Stefano loves her, but Celeste thinks he has an ulterior motive. Celeste makes one more desperate move...she tells her that she trusted John enough to give him power of attorney; trust him now.
Nurse Roberta comes in with tea. She pours some for Celeste, adding the potion. Vivian refuses hers, but the mission was accomplished. Roberta calls Stefano and tells him that it was a success. Celeste takes one sip and gets dizzy. Celeste is now in a trance, unresponsive. In the car, Rolf and Stefano are holding a microphone that will transmit his voice into the device in Vivian's tooth. As Stefano is talking, Vivian's lip twitches. He tells her to get her clothes and that Celeste will get a wheelchair. She turns to Celeste and Celeste robotically says that she will do anything Vivian says. As Celeste goes for the wheelchair, Vivian is stunned, but happy to get out of there. Through the microphone, Stefano leads Vivian out, pushed by Celeste. They are stopped by two nurses, but Vivian can't talk her way out of it. Outside Greenhaven, Stefano and Rolf are wondering where they are, when Celeste comes out with a laundry basket. Out pops Vivian, who is grateful that they are escaping, and seeing Rolf, wonders who he is. Stefano orders Celeste to go to Viv's room and go to sleep, and when she wakes up, she won't remember a thing. They take off for Stefano's car.
John enters the penthouse where he is greeted by Marlena. John was driving around, thinking. His thoughts were about Marlena's accusation that he is gullible in believing Greta. But, John tells her, she is wrong. Marlena apologizes for using the wrong word, but she wants him to be careful. She wonders if John's blind devotion to Greta is something that he needs to believe. John says that he trust Greta because he trusts who she is, not what she represents for his past. He diverts the topic to the new hypnosis technique. Marlena is hesitant, but John wants to know who he is so that he can be a complete person and happy. Marlena tells him that they are happy the way they are. Marlena admits that she talked with Stefano. John is furious that she would want him to forget about his search. She is worried that they will find something horrible about his past, something to tear them apart. John assures her that it won't, and she relents and says they will start the hypnosis.
A stunned Roman repeats what Kate just told him: she wants to testify for the defense. She could show that Franco was a smooth liar. That, with Candy's testimony that he was violent, would offer a strong case for Sami shooting him in self defense. Roman tells her that perjury is a jailable offense. Kate assures him that she wants to tell her story; perhaps that will get Roman off her back. Roman mocks offense, and says that maybe he just wants to be around her. Kate doesn't believe it, but Roman says he is telling the truth: he does find her attractive. Kate has no response, so Roman says that he will talk to Mickey and get it arranged.
Outside, Lucas is being reprimanded by his probation officer. Lucas tells him that at the time, he was wanting to help someone else, but that was a mistake. The officer tells him that mistake will cost him...he's going to jail. Lucas pleads his case that he couldn't take a cab because it would take too long and he was doing it to support the mother of his child. Officer Jones relents and tells him it better not happen again. Lucas walks into the room where Kate and Roman are and tells them that he got another six months added to his probation but he won't do jailtime. Kate is relieved and Roman pipes up that Kate has agreed to testify. Lucas is shocked and Kate calms him down saying that she just wants to help Sami. Lucas takes the hint and shuts up. They decide to go home, and Roman offers to drive them both.
Taylor can't believe that Lucas drove to the courthouse. Eric and Sami tell her that he's violated his probation. But, the reason they are at the mansion is so that Sami can recreate what happened. Eric starts to talk Sami through it. They start with her walking into the room, but she can't remember if Franco was there or not. Everything is blank. She figures that maybe Franco was not in the room, so she went and got the gun. We see Sami and Franco yelling at each other while Eric's voice narrates what is going on. Sami starts to yell at him, Franco gets mad, Sami fears for her life and shoots him. At this moment, Kate, Lucas and Roman come in to see Sami pretending to hold the gun and Eric asking if she remembers.
Kate wants to know what is going on. Kate wants to know if it worked. She says that she remembers nothing. Roman tells his daughter that he has some good news: Kate will testify on her behalf. Sami goes ballistic saying that Kate wants to see her in jail so they can have Will, and that will never happen. Sami and Roman leave, and Kate has a victorious look on her face. She tells Lucas that when she testifies, Sami will end up in jail, but it will look like she was trying to help. Roman wants to know what happened during the reenactment. Sami tells him that nothing changed, it must have happened the way Eric and Roman say it did.
Ali is right at the door to Mike's office and recalls her earlier conversation in which Craig tells her that Mike is in love with Carrie. She has to find out for herself and starts to open the door when Austin comes around. He asks Ali if she's seen Carrie and she tells him no, unless she's with Mike. Inside, Carrie and Mike are leaning in to kiss. They lean closer and closer and Mike briefly pulls away. Outside, Austin wonders if Ali is OK. She tells him that she's heard something upsetting, and Austin asks what it is, perhaps he can help.
Mike and Carrie are sitting at his desk, working on the budget. Outside, Ali says she can't really talk about what is upsetting her, but wonders if it bothers Austin that Carrie and Mike spend so much time together. He says that it used to, but he's over it now. Ali asks if he trusts Mike with Carrie and he says he does, but wants to know why she would ask that. Inside, Mike and Carrie have finished the budget, and are happy that everything worked perfectly. There's still stuff to do, and Carrie says they'll put on a pot of coffee and some popcorn. Meanwhile, Austin tells Ali that there was a time when he knew Mike had feelings for Carrie...this shocks Ali. But, he says, Mike now only has eyes for Ali. Ali takes this as a positive sign that there is hope for them. Austin chalks it up to being hurt in the past. Ali feels so much better and the two walk into Mike's office. He kisses his wife and wonders if Carrie can leave. Carrie starts to balk, but Mike says go. Ali thinks that it does not seem like Mike is in love with Carrie, so there is still a chance for them.
Austin and Carrie are talking about Ali, and Carrie tells him that Mike and Ali broke up. Austin is surprised that Ali did not mention it, but Carrie is not, because she thinks Ali is unstable. Austin tells his wife that Ali asked if it bothered him that she was spending so much time with Mike. Ali saunters up to Mike and wants to hold him, but Mike moves away. He wonders how she is and says he never wanted to hurt her. Ali says she knows and that she understands he is not ready for a committed relationship. She will wait for him and not push. Mike tries to tell her no, but she cuts him off and says that she loves him and that she was wrong. She knows the reason he broke up with her was not because of him being in love with Carrie.
Marlena goes looking for John in Salem Place and when she finds him he has a beard and is still a priest. Marlena asks him what has happened to him, but he doesn't even know her! She fears Stefano has turned him back into the pawn. Greta shows up and tells Father John she has something wonderful to show him. John leaves with Greta and Marlena wakes up from her nightmare screaming John's name. When she looks over to John, he's not in bed. She shouts to him. John is downstairs and calls Greta to ask her to come to the hypnosis session today. Greta says she will be there, despite Marlena not trusting her. Marlena rushes downstairs and leaps into John's arms. She tells him about the dream she had and wants to call the hypnosis session off. Chelsea takes the kids to school and Marlena fears that she and the kids may lose him again. John tells her nobody will take him from them. Marlena begs John to call off the session, but he says he can't. Marlena says she knows, but had to ask.
Rolf is looking at his satellite in orbit and is typing away on his PC. Stefano calls Rolf and tells him that he has Vivian someplace where John will never find her. Stefano asks how things are going with Gina, and Rolf tells him at the next lunar eclipse, Hope will cease to exist. Stefano says that his plan for the future depends on Gina because she will help him get his art treasures back and accumulate more if needed. Rolf tells him that there is nothing to fear, it is all scientific and will work out perfectly. Stefano tells Rolf to just make sure Hope doesn't remember too much information before the transformation occurs. Rolf continues working on the satellite and says that this time, Hope will lose her identity for good.
At the Horton house, Bo finds Hope playing the piano again and it causes him to have eerie feelings. Hope is troubled by it too and she feels like she's out of control. She tells him that she's very scared. Bo holds her and tells her he won't let anything happen to her. Bo tells her that as soon as the holidays are over they will go to Europe and investigate her past. Shawn D. shows up and asks his dad if he's ready to go. Hope wants to know what is going on and Bo just smiles at her. Shawn D. mentions getting a tool box and Hope realizes they are building something. Bo and Shawn D. sneak away and Hope talks with Greta. Greta tells Hope that even if she doesn't find the answers she's looking for, she still has a family that loves and supports her. Hope tells Greta that she is so right. Greta leaves and later, Lili rings Hope's doorbell. Unfortunately, Lucille has followed Lili . Hope tells her that they have so much to catch up on and Lucille just sighs. Hope and Lili go into the living room to talk and Lili asks Lucille to take their things to the hotel and get them settled in. Lucille leaves and Lili asks Hope how things are going. Hope says things have been good and not so good, but the future looks better than ever. Hope tells Lili that she thinks she and Bo will get back together, which bothers Lili. Lili says Bo has hurt her so much, but Hope says everything is better now and that she and Bo are soulmates. Lili asks Hope if she's learned anything else about Stefano, but Hope says she hasn't. However, she says she has Bo and John to help her. Lili tells Hope that she'll always think of her as Gina and still believes she could have just been programmed to be Hope. Hope says that's not possible, so Lili asks how she explains the birthmark? Hope says that she can't, but Stefano might have given it to her to convince people she was Gina, because the real Gina died. This upsets Lili . Hope tells Lili that the real Gina died shortly before he made Hope into Gina to continue his agenda.
Shawn D. and Bo go to Salem Place and Shawn D. meets up with an old friend of his, who has been away at Radcliff. Bo picks up that Shawn D. would like to go there, but Bo says he wants him around as much as possible because they've been separated as a family for so much time.
Bo and Shawn D. return home and meet Lily. Hope asks them what they are up to, but the keep their secret. Suddenly, Hope remembers running through the streets of Lugano. Bo asks her what is wrong and Hope says she doesn't know.
Marlena, John, and Greta meet in Marlena's office to put John under hypnosis. Marlena tells Greta that she will act as the trigger to help John. Marlena tells Greta to explain a memory to John that he should be able to remember. Greta tells John about a villa her mom rented one spring and how she and Father John were having a personable and memorable conversation. Greta continues to tells John how he and Gina were going on a trip and she talked with him about a boy she liked and about his own life. Flashback time, Greta asks John why he doesn't talk about his own life? John asks what she wants to know and Greta asks him if he regrets being a priest? John asks why she'd ask that and Greta says that he's such a great father figure, but he'd never get to have children. John tells her in French that he has no regrets. Back in the present, John seems to remember the conversation and says "Je ne regrets." Back to the past, Gina comes to see Greta to say goodbye to her because she and John are going away. However, Gina has a surprise and gives her the music to the Nutcracker Suite duet. Gina tells Greta to practice and when she returns, they will play it on Christmas morning. John tells Gina that they must go and he says goodbye to Greta as well. Back to the present, Greta says they did return for Christmas and the played the Nutcracker on Christmas morning. Marlena decides to bring John back and tells him he will remember everything. John wakes up and asks what happened. Marlena tells him that he seemed to remember an event Greta talked about, if it was even real. Greta says she didn't make it up and asks John if he remembers.
Eric meets Nicole in Salem Place. He tells her that they have a job to do today. Nicole is shocked by how much work Lucas is giving her, but Eric isn't and tells her that Lucas has a thing for her. Nicole says she didn't mean to lead Lucas on if that is what she did, but he is their boss. Eric could care less and hates Lucas and his mom for what they've done to Sami. Eric says he's positive that Kate is hiding something that could help Sami's case. Nicole is confused because Kate is going to testify for Sami, but Eric says she just has a hidden agenda. Nicole recalls Kate warning her that she hired the stripper for Franco's bachelor party.
A reporter from the spectator catches Kate in Salem Place and asks if he can do an article on Sami's trial. Kate tells him he can.
Roman finds Sami and Will in Salem Place enjoying themselves. Sami tells her dad that she wants to make this the best Christmas for Will because it may be her last. Roman tells her that he will prove her innocent and is positive that Kate is withholding information. Roman asks Sami what has gone down between her and Kate, he needs to know for her as well as Will's sake. Sami tells her dad there is nothing, but Roman knows she's holding back something. Sami remembers Kate's warning that she'd lose her father and Austin's respect if she tells the truth. Sami tells her dad there is nothing. Suddenly, a man starts snapping photographs of Sami and Will. Roman yells at the photographer to get the hell away from his daughter and grandson. Chelsea shows up with Belle and Brady to pick up Will, she has something special planned for them all. Sami cries on Roman's shoulder and he promises that he'll do everything in his power to help her.
Sami and Roman meet up with Eric and Nicole. Nicole becomes uncomfortable as they all talk about Kate and excuses herself. Nicole knows Kate hired Candy and wonders if it could help Sami and if she should tell Eric.
Taylor and Lucas go to the gym to conduct Lucas' physical therapy. Taylor doesn't understand why he risked everything to go to the courthouse. Lucas tells Taylor that he was just taking her advice, but Sami rejected his support. Lucas says he hates what Sami is going through, but a stripper might be able to testify that Franco was a violent person. Taylor asks Lucas if saw any of Franco's violent attacks and Lucas said he did. Suddenly, Kate shows up and tells Lucas that he's wrong. Taylor leaves them to talk and Kate scolds Lucas. Lucas tells his mom that he doesn't understand her sometimes and asks how she can be so damn cold? Kate says she doesn't feel any sympathy for Sami at all. Kate says all she has done is protect her son. Lucas knows she's looking out for his best interests, and Kate tells him that is why he has to stay strong. Kate warns him not to cloud his head with thoughts about Nicole and romance. Lucas tells his mom that she was the one who told him he needed some motivation. Lucas asks Taylor to help him get to the car and says he wants to stop by the mall to pick something up for Nicole.
Lucas finds Nicole in Salem Place and gives her a HUGE bouquet. Back at Titan, Kate hires a PI to investigate Nicole.
